Inlet Island Proposal

In April 2021, the City of Ithaca, NY announced an open Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) to redevelop a large waterfront parking lot. In just 1.5 workdays, I developed a design and financing proposal including:

• 121 units of 100% affordable housing between 30% and 80% AMI

• a new landmark waterfront park

• 170 parking spaces

• A small Main Street-style retail block

The site layout was strongly influenced by advances in landscape urbanist design, in particular by the work of SOM and Morphosis at the Cornell campus, and of the design ideas of Michel Desvignes.
